Post 76: Veterans Park, Lordsburg, New Mexico
Veterans Park, Lordsburg, New Mexico

Veterans Park, Lordsburg, New Mexico . We found this one on Campendium. We just needed a place for the night and with the write ups, we were not expecting much.
It is level ground with picnic tables that are covered. The property is either a deserted campground or unkempt campground we couldn’t decide. But the price was right (free), no one bothered us and we had excellent internet connection with T-Mobile.
One concern
The dogs were a concern though. There were many prickly plants around and broken glass. But, we still respected the environment and picked up after our dogs, even though we noticed others had not. There were some trash bins near by so we made use of them.
Entrance
The Campground is marked with a Curved gate way with the name on it, Tank and a huge Gun on either side. Not too difficult to find. Not much in the town at the exit where the campground is at, so we have no information there.

It has been years since we have been to Lordsburg. Never have liked that side of the state. Does not surprise me of the “campground “ you found. I hope you find a better site as you travels continue.
Hi Janet
Yes it was a bit different of a campground, however it was what we expected based on the reviews on Campendium.com and freecampsites.net . It was situated nicely between where we left and where we wanted to get to and it was quiet and safe, better than a truck stop in our opinion lol. Are you back in Flordia now?
