West Lake Park, Deaven Port Iowa

West Lake Park , we enjoyed this place so much on the way down, that when we realized we were within the right distance of it on the way back we decided to stop over night again.

Arriving at West Lake Park you have to becareful of ONE issue. Depending on who is in the office, they will tell you the place if full. We suggest you go  look for a spot first. Drop your trailer off on a vacant site. Registering at the office 2nd seems to be the way.  You might be better off. This campground does fill up.

Twice now, we were told that they were full.  We asked if we could go look to be answered with a shrug. We went and found several sites open in the #1 campground. The olderly lady who is at reception is much more efficient. The younger ones don’t seem to care as much. Or they are not on the ball as much.

Aside from that, it is a really nice place as we mentioned back in our post on May 28th, 2017. This campground has a gorgeous beach area, with much to offer, hiking tails, fishing and free showers. Water and every amperage that you could possible need for your rig is located at every site. It is clean, reasonable and it offers a discount to anyone 62 and older. Plus you get a Good Sam discount.

CAMPING WORLD – DISNEY WORLD FOR ADULTS HAHA

Oh and a HUGE perk to this location is a  Camping World just down the road. Very dangerous. lol. We went into Camping World for one item, came out with much more. People in that store are JUST TOO DARN FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL lol.
